Welcome to Taos Clay
Our state of the art facility, founded by Page Patterson in 2003, enables us to conduct a variety of classes and workshops. Participating students and studio potters gain knowledge and inspiration from each other as well as from nationally renown visiting potters.
Our studio facility has charcoal, raku, gas, wood fire and electric kilns. We also have a pug mill, clay mixer, extruder, and electric wheels. Our large general work area enables independent work as well as collaborative efforts.
Taos Clay is a cross cultural and cross generational facility that promotes excellence in the ceramic arts. Diversified ceramic art programs are offered by nationally recognized artists from around the Northern New Mexico Community.
Taos Clay offers studio membership with unlimited access to the community studio and glaze room, as well as, raku, gas, electric and wood firing kilns. Studio Membership ranges in price form $75-$125/monthly. There is the opportunity to sell and show work in the studio gallery. Space in the studio gallery is leased on a quarterly basis and the artists retain full commission. Taos Clay offers seasonal classes summer workshops and private classes for all skill levels. There is also the opportunity for beginners or travelers to Taos to take part in the “Throw and Fire” package where they are introduced to throwing on a potters wheel and participate in a raku firing.
