Throw and Fire
Looking for an artistic accompaniment to your vacation in Taos? Come learn how to throw on a potter's wheel and participate in a Raku firing. Each person will have the option of glazing and decorating a pot made by local potters. The pots will be placed in a kiln and fast fired to 2000 degrees. While the pots are firing learn to throw pots on a potters wheel. after a couple of hours the pots will be ready to take out of the kiln red hot and placed in reduction pits of combustibles. the pots are then immediately crash cooled in water and ready to take home at the end of the session. Great for families, couples and groups of all ages. Each session last approximately 2.5 hours. $125 individual, $175 couple, $75 each additional person.
