I strive to create work that is easy to use, comfortable, and playful. Starting with the wheel and altering the thrown vessel, form gives lively personality and movement to my pottery while a playful design on the surface completes each piece. Time spent at family gatherings inspire my work- sewing, outdoor playtime, and evening adventures in my childhood neighborhood with my sister. The community built around wood firing has been a major influence in finishing my work for years. Recently I have pursued a transition to mid-range firing in an electric kiln to achieve a brighter surface with more control.
